In the spring of 1975, Tove and Tooti also lived and worked at the Cité des Artes studio in Paris. The previous year had been a rough one for Tove, as too much work of all sorts had accumulated. In her Paris studio, she felt burnt out and found it difficult to get down to work. She was suffering from writer’s block and so instead she began to paint, and continued painting with a great sense of purpose. Also dating from this time is Tove’s portrait of Tooti, The Graphic Artist – a portrait of work and love.
