Comics
The Moomin comics were created for an international audience when Tove Jansson began drawing Moomins for the British newspaper the Evening News in 1954. Between 1954 and 1959, she wrote and drew comics for adults, imbuing the Moomin world with a humorous, satirical tone. Between 1957 and 1959, Tove was assisted with the scripts by her brother Lars Jansson, and from 1960 onwards, Lars continued the series on his own. By 1975, Lars had created 52 new comics. The 73 Moomin comics are an important part of the international history of the Moomins.
